1. What balances can I transfer?

You can transfer UK storecard and credit card balances, although you cannot transfer balances from a card provided by Santander Cards UK Limited or Santander Cards Limited. All transfers are subject to our approval.

Cardmembers with a Recognition Account Card cannot transfer balances.

2. What Balance Transfer rate can I expect?

If you are a new cardmember with a Recognition MasterCard, you can transfer balance(s) at a rate of 0% p.a for 9 months (2.99% fee applies), subject to approval. You will need to do this within 6 weeks of opening your account. Terms and conditions apply, click here

If you are an existing cardmember with a MasterCard, please call House of Fraser Card Services on 0871 522 5827 (calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras. Calls may be recorded and monitored for training and security purposes) to discuss if you are eligible for a Balance Transfer offer. Cardmembers with a Recognition Account Card cannot transfer balances.

3. Can I transfer balances from a number of financial providers?

Yes, subject to approval, you can transfer balances from a number of accounts and financial providers – providing that they are UK storecard or credit card balances.

You cannot transfer balances from another card with the same retailer branding as the one to which you wish to transfer the balance. All transfers are subject to our approval.

4. How can I arrange a Balance Transfer?

To arrange a Balance Transfer you should call 0871 522 5827 (calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras. Calls may be recorded and monitored for training and security purposes. Opening hours are: 8am to 9pm, 7 days a week). You can also transfer a balance when you call to activate your card.

5. How long will it take to process a Balance Transfer?

It can take up to 10 days to complete a Balance Transfer. You should continue making monthly repayments to your existing card providers, until the transfer shows on your account with them.

6. How much can I transfer?

You can transfer any amount from £100 up to 95% of your available credit limit. All or part of the balances(s) requested will be transferred subject to your available credit limit.

7. Is there a fee for Balance Transfers?

The Balance Transfer handling fee is 2.99% of the amount transferred and will be charged each time you make a transfer. After a Balance Transfer has been processed, you cannot cancel it and the Balance Transfer fee cannot be refunded to you. The handling fee will be shown on your monthly statement following the transfer.
